Sofia, March 21, 2018 – Leaders and entrepreneurs from fifteen countries, including Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, England and the United States, are coming to Sofia on April 12th for the first SHEleader@digital Conference, which aims to promote the participation of women in leadership and professional roles in the technology industry, to outline the growing role of women in the socio-economic development of the world and show the face and style of the new generation of female entrepreneurs in the digitally-based economy.
Among the keynote speakers and guests at SHEleader@digital are Mariya Gabriel – EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mina Dimitrova – Head of Central Go To Market, EMEA at Google, Mary-Jo de Leeuw – founder and VP of Women in Cyber Security Foundation (WiCS), Sabela Garcia Cuesta – Program Manager at Next Media Accelerator, Marzena Bielecka – Managing Partner and Founder of Experior Venture Fund, Lina Salanauskaite – researcher at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and Sasha Bezuhanova – founder of BCWT and MOVE.BG.
SHEleader@digital is organized by the Bulgarian Center of Women in Technology (BCWT), in partnership with the Ministry of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission. The conference will be held under the official patronage of the Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mrs. Mariya Gabriel.
The conference will gather business leaders, entrepreneurs, angel investors, representatives of European institutions and academic circles, which through their experience and achievements to inspire more girls and women to find their place in the digital world. It will also put a focus on the role of women in the technology sector and will discuss possible solutions to promote the entrepreneurial environment.

SHEleader@digital will showcase good examples from the Bulgarian and European digital sectors and will look at how women leaders can effectively partner to support women’s leadership in the digital world and change the general perception of women in technology.
